Maria do Mar Surf Villa is located in Vale da Telha, near to Arrifana beach, in the center of the natural park, surrounded by the purest natural air.
More than a familiar atomosphere we give you to know the true local culture, since we are born and raised in this wonderful land.
Ricardo, the founder and owner, is also a professional fisherman following the family tradition.
We dont want to receive only surfers, but also people with a good spirit, educated who treat our house as their house.

Maria do Mar Surf Villa is fully equipped with a kitchen where you can make your meals, each person have a personal space to leave their food.
We also have a livingroom with pool table, satellite tv, and even wifi internet in all areas of the house.
In our garden you can find our fantastic swimming pool and a leisure area with bbq and an outdoor bathroom to support the pool.
From our garden you have direct access to our terrace where you can relax and see the beautiful sunset with sea view.
Location
We are located in the heart of Costa Vicentina Natural Park, just 2 minutes drive from Ponta da Atalaia, a excellence viewpoint over the sea, and where is located a fortress warrior to monks convent, the name is Ribat of Arrifana, which is a rare set of archaeological structures, unique in Portugal, and, in the Iberian Peninsula, is known only one copy of this nature.
Ponta da Atalaia have a circuit where you can walk by the sea, rocks and cliffs, when you’re not surfing, and enjoy the extraordinary sunset.

This area of Portugal is a year round surf destination and has the warmest sea water in the country. In the summer months you can surf in just shorts or a shortie and it doesn't get dark until 10pm so you can surf all day long! The coastline is part of the protected natural park with 50 kilometres of protected beaches with no large towns or high rise tourist accommodations. Instead you will discover beautiful pristine beaches and small traditional towns a far cry from the main overrun Algarve tourist spots.
Amado beach is the areas best beginner/intermediate surf beach and a great starting point. Amado is surrounded by many other great surf breaks with options for all standards. Praia da Cordoama is one of the most picturesque beaches in Portugal, a long stretch of sand protected by cliffs, a great intermediate spot. Praia do Castelejo beside it is even more consistent.
There's a dozen beaches further north all worth exploring including Arrifana & Amoreira, two very consistent beginner/intermediate beach breaks.
Furthest south is the laid back surf town of Sagres. The beaches East of Sagres such as Zavial & Martinhal are usually calm and require a big swell to work, they are a great alternative if the surf on the beaches on the West coast are too big. There are many hidden spots around Sagres some of which will require an SUV to get too but are well worth it especially for the more experienced.

It was perfect! People, food, house and the lessons were absolutly wonderful! Nice place to stay and perfect for beginner and advanced surfers!

How were the surf lessons?
The instructor was also a local with lots of experience and the right balance of safty and freedome to surf. The lesson was perfect in small groups and i really enjoined having a teacher as a friend and not as a screeming guy who just does the randome stuff.
