Guincho Wayra House is situated in a picturesque valley, overlooking the breathtaking Sintra to Cascais Natural Park and just minutes from Guincho Beach. Our Villa is the only Hostel in Cascais situated within walking distance of the most captivating beach of the Iberian Peninsula, Praia do Guincho, that makes a perfect refuge for lonely travelers, couples and groups of friends.

You can sleep in a bed in one of our dorms or our double rooms, all with shared bathrooms and views of Sintra to Cascais Natural Park.
You will be served daily breakfast during this camp. There is also fully equipped kitchen available in the house, which you can use to store the food and prepare your own meals only once per day.
We offer kitesurfing, surfing, SUP, rock climbing, and SUP Yoga classes appropriate for all levels.
We also organize mindfulness walks and hiking.
There is a bright and broad Yoga to Shala to practice Yin Yoga, stretching and Hatha Yoga, as well as, extraordinary therapists in Wayra House offering Reiki, Shamanic & Ancestral sessions, Astrological Chart, Thai and Ayurvedic massage.

Location
Charneca do Guincho is a traditional Portuguese village, a secret hideaway of many artists and local sportsmen, with a restaurant to bar, small markets and even a Horse Riding School.
Just 15 minutes walk from Guincho surf beach, the House enjoys a privileged location and view. The magic of this little piece of land, that is only a few kilometers away from Cabo da Roca, the most western point of Europe, gives another dimension to the experience of staying in this place, leaving in your memory impressions of charm.
The historic center of Cascais is only a 10 minute drive away, where you will find restaurants with a rich variety in traditional and international cuisine, complemented by a vibrant nightlife.

Beginner Surf Lessons
The class consists of a warm up the body, flexibility and joint mobility, then after learning the techniques of take off at the beach, feet position by our instructors, let´s go to the water! Time to surf! We will prepare you to go to the "green" waves !!
Our surf lessons are 1.30 hr per day. Includes the wetsuit, board, insurance and instruction, also pick up if needed.
Intermediate Surf Lessons
The class consists of a warm up the body, flexibility and joint mobility, we will practice the take off on the board and start with the maneuvers of rotations. You are ready now to go to the "green" waves !!
Our surf lessons are 1.30 hr per day. Includes the wetsuit, board, insurance and instruction, also pick up if needed.
Advanced Surf Lessons
The lesson consists of a warm up the body, flexibility and joint mobility, techniques of rotation in the waves, cutback and surf back side.
Our surf lessons are 1.30 hr per day. Includes the wetsuit, board, insurance and instruction, also pick up if needed.
Private Surf Lessons
You will meet up your instructor at the Hostel. One to one. The class consists in warm up the body, flexibility and joint mobility, then after learning the techniques of take off, feet position on the board, let's go to the water! Time to surf!

SUP Lessons
We will meet you up at the Hostel if you are our guest or at the beach.
We offer daily SUP beg. lessons in the flat water in São Pedro and Duquesa Beach, Cascais. You will learn Technical information regarding foot positioning, as well correct body posture while rowing.
Rowing techniques while standing, cross the shorebreak and safety measures.
Initial manoeuvres, variations and pivoting.
Beginner Kite Surfing
During this course you will learn the fundamentals of kitesurf and be able to recognize the optimal conditions. The lesson includes set up and pack down of the equipment, all safety measures, kite flying techniques in the safety zone, starting with the "training kite" (2 lines) and then with 4 lines kite hooked into a harness. Here you will learn to drag your body in the water. Fun Time!
Intermediate Kite Surfing
This course moves beyond body dragging to steady pull, introducing you to water start and sailing down wind. Learn rules of priority, navigation techniques, keeping the kite in the wind window with absolute safety and control. The fast learners will begin to learn the water start, as well the relaunch of the kite, safe rescue techniques, and the recovery of the board.

Cascais is the perfect place to learn how to surf. The town is surrounded by many different types of beaches. The best beginners/intermediate surf beach is Guincho (pronounced Ginchu) 5 km's north west of Cascias town. It's a beautiful kilometre long stretch of beach.
Further north are two excellent beginners beaches Praia das Macas & Praia Grande. They are well worth the trip as they will take you past Cabo da Roca, mainland Europes most Western Point with a pretty impressive cliff top view.
A few hundred metres East of Cascais is Monte Estoril beach which has a small righthand wave that breaks regularly. There is a car park at its base accessed from a slip road above.
Follow the road east of Cascais along the Tagus river (Tejo in Portuguese) towards Lisbon and you will come across beach after beach offering a vast amount of surf: Bica is a great longboarders break on Sao Pedro beach. The beach has a few surf bars and restaurants and is a great place to spend the day.
Closer to Lisbon is Carcavelos beach - as the Stormriders surf guide call it: "the original and still one of the best Portuguese surf spots". Its a very consistent beach break and home to some of Portugals best surfers.
Its also worth taking the trip across the river Tagus to Costa Caparica - driving over the spectacular Ponte 25 de Abril bridge leaving Lisbon behind you. Costa Caprica is a 30 km strip of coast with some of the most consistent surf in Portugal.

Instructors were very devoted, enthusiastic and encouraging! Though I think as beginners we were hopeless with our surfing skills at most of the times, we always got encouraged and given tips on how to keep going. I absolutely recommend!

Guincho Wayra House is a great place. Very clean, quiet relaxing atmosphere, great view over the mountains and very nice staff. I felt very welcome. The area near Sintra and Guincho beach is beautifull. Buses are driving regularly but I was happy to have rented a car to go everywhere.
